Ulu Cami and Upper Mesopotamia, Mardin. 29-4-2010, 8:08.
Ulu Cami (the Grand Mosque of Mardin) was built in 1176 by the Artukid ruler Melik Kubbeddin. Here we see the fluted dome overlooking the Mesopotamian plain. The mosque was rebuilt after it was damaged during a rebellion in 1832.
