Inari Lake (Inarinjärvi), Inari, Lapland (Lappi), Finland. September 2008.
The landscape and flora of Lapland reminds me of Alaska's Kenai Peninsula. It is Alaska without the mountains. The September sun sends its rays with a low angle so that the light at noon is better than the sunset hours of many other places. The predominantly yellow colors of fall are already in full swing, and they will turn into reds and oranges in two weeks.
